At a young age, I found myself navigating life’s uncertainties, beginning with my time in foster care. Reunited with my biological family at ten, I entered a world shadowed by addiction and mental illness. Despite these struggles, moments of kindness, radical self-expression, and resilience colored my experience, offering glimpses of light amidst the darkness. Stability was a luxury, and survival became a daily battle.
As I journeyed through adolescence, I grappled with the weight of familial challenges and the specter of mental illness. Despite the chaos, a whisper of inner guidance urged me to see beyond my circumstances and embrace a larger purpose.
I experienced the depths of depression during my military service and law school years, grappling with the disconnect between societal expectations and my inner calling for freedom and authenticity.
Amidst the darkness, moments of clarity emerged. A prophecy ignited a spark within me, urging me to document my journey and seek healing. I found solace in prayer, journaling, and seeking therapy, gradually reclaiming my sense of self and purpose.
Armed with newfound resilience and a deep desire to help others break free from their own limitations, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. Light to Lead was born from the ashes of my past, a beacon of hope and empowerment for those navigating their own paths to freedom.
